In mijn dorp heeft onze band Poeme Montagnard en Et in terra Pax gespeeld. Ik speelde toen nog niet mee, dus ik heb het resultaat gezien en omdat ze het goed hebben gespeeld weet ik dat het heel goede liedjes zijn. Mijn kleine broer speelt hoorn en hij heeft det boek met partituren van enkele liedjes en nu willen we er een paar in de jeugdband van het conservatorium van het dorp spelen. Het stomme voor mij en een vriend dat er geen cello is in die liedjes maar tja... Orion en Singapura Suite vinden we de beste. Ook proficiat, want al is jou muziek moeilijk, het is echt tof!!

....Dances Of Innocence.... My high school band, BGSS, in Singapore played your composition, Dances of Innocence, at our local band festival, Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging of Concert Bands 2011, and we managed to clinch a SILVER medal at the festival. We would like to extent our thanks to you for composing such a wonderful piece. This piece has many elements of a concert work where there a solos and ensemble playing that test the ability of our members to play as one. Thank you once again. Bonjour, Mr Van der Roost. Je suis saxo ténor à l'Orchestre d'Harmonie de Vendée, où nous avons eu le plaisir de jouer sous votre direction lors de nore concert du dimanche 17 Octobre 2010 à Fontenay-le-comte (Vendée). Je peux vous dire que ce week-end a été riche en émotion pour les musiciens, vu la somme de travail que nous avons accomplie sous votre baguette pour les répétitions, puis pour le concert qui fut un moment inoubliable pour chacun de nous, même si la fatigue était bien présente. Nous avons tous déjà joué plusieurs de vos pièces pour orchestre d'harmonie, mais le faire avec vous était tout simplement incroyable. Le public, aussi, était sous le charme. Il y avait ceux qui connaissaient votre musique, et ceux qui vous découvraient, et ce n'était pas les moins surpris par la qualité, l'expression et les rythmes de vos pièces. Tous ceux que je rencontre depuis sont unanimes: c'était un concert merveilleux! Le seul bémol (j'ose!) concernait sans doute la qualité pure de notre orchestre qui, bien que courageux, n'a fait que de son mieux pour vous intreprêter. Je souhaite vraiment avoir un jour à nouveau l'occasion de vous rencontrer et de re-jouer sous votre direction. Probe aus uns Musikern, mich Bassklarinettisten eingeschlossen, zu entlocken (dies ist nicht nur meine persönliche Meinung, sondern auch einiger anderer Musiker). I have listened to some of your work and it just gives me a different diretion and mood in every composition. since my director has encoraged me and my fellow musicians to research you it has been very easy since you are such a big contributor to the arts. I had the privage to play Puszta and Balkanya, and I played both timpani parts. They are both very fun to play.

Your pieces never cease to amaze me! I have played several of your pieces on varying instruments and have loved every single one from Orion to Flashing winds to St. Martins Suite to Swan on the Hill, olympica, Signature. Mr. Van de Roost you are a genius of our time and will without a doubt one day join the ranks of composers such as Mozart, Offenbach, Beethoven, Glen Miller. I hope to one day listen to my children and grand children play these songs, or medleys combining several of your songs (I can just hear one now, with the melodies from olympica, swan on the hill, St Martins II and Flashing winds)

I've played Puszta and Rikudim, and let me just say that it's a toss up between those two for my favorite song played in any ensemble, ever! How do you write such elaborate, beautiful pieces?

I play clarinet in my high school symphonic band. We're getting ready for our spring concert this Wednesday and we'll be performing "Balkanya." It's definitely my most favorite piece out of all the others I've had the privilege to play. I love the flow and beauty of it. It's really like nothing I've every played before.
